The Siberian cat is the ONLY cat breed that can claim the title of being HYPOALLERGENIC and they have the proof to back it up. They naturally produce a much-reduced level of the FEL-D1 protein, which people are allergic to. Hence “hypoallergenic”, as opposed to “non-allergenic” – the absence of an allergen.

The FEL-D1 gets applied to the cats’ fur from the saliva in the grooming process. When dry, it flakes off and becomes the “airborne” irritant that creates an allergic reaction. Most Siberian cats produce such a LOW LEVEL of the FEL-D1 compared to ALL other cat breeds due to a sequence missing in their DNA. When another breed is crossed with the Siberian, it can reintroduce this missing link.

ALLERGIES AND OUR CATS
Be sure you are getting a traditional Siberian kitten. Most of our cats have been TESTED by a biotech firm and have some of the LOWEST levels of FEL-D1. A lot of other breeds are trying to get on this bandwagon – DON’T BE MISLED BY FALSE CLAIMS THAT CAN’T BE BACKED UP!
ALLERGY TESTING
Testing in your own home is the most accurate. Each home has its’ own unique environment that you are used to. WHEN AVAILABLE we do have allergy testing kits with a variety of fur from our Siberian cats and COMPLETE INSTRUCTIONS on how to test yourself. The kit fee is $50.00; non-refundable.
SIBERIAN CAT FACTS
Siberians are incredibly loving, gentle cats with just the right amount of energy. They can be playful, yet calm and mellow. They have sweet, angelic faces, medium-to-long silky coats, with a neck ruff and bushy tail. They are healthy and hardy, have a strong, muscular, large build, and are low maintenance.
DISPOSITION AND PERSONALITY
They get along WONDERFULLY with other pets and children and are more dog-like than feline. They ADORE human interaction and develop a strong bond with THEIR family. They are highly intelligent, will come when called, greet you at the door, and train easily.
A BRIEF HISTORY ON SIBERIANS
The Siberian cat is one of 3 “FOREST” cats, is one of the oldest “natural” breeds, and has survived for over 1000 years in their native Russia. In 1990, the first Siberian made the journey across the Atlantic Ocean to step foot in the United States.
